Local Contest
The U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii will conduct a local contest to select finalists for the circuit-wide competition. The winners in the essay and video competitions at the district court level will go on to compete in the Ninth Circuit contest. Local contest winners in each category will receive prizes of $1,500 for 1st place, $750 for 2nd place and $500 for 3rd place. Participating students must reside in the state of Hawaii.

The Prizes
First Prize: $1,500 Second Prize: $750 Third Prize: $500
These cash prizes are in addition to any prizes awarded at the circuit level.
